For the very first post of the series: “How to be a Hypebeast”, we’ve got ourselves the most minimal budget to look swag. I’ve done some analysis and came up with $100USD or $132SGD for the quota.

In this first part, I’ll only be getting really simple yet trendy clothing that matches the budget so if you’re looking to be brand-trendy or looking to stack and overlap brands then you may want to check out the next few posts.

So with a short budget on hand and still wanting to look like a Hypebeast, you’ll probably have to forgo the unnecessities which are like hats, glasses, accessories, watches, and bags. These additional items could boost your outfit but it is not entirely essential.

On top of that, you wouldn’t want to consider any particular brand and just go for the most economical pieces you can find.

For the top and bottom, it is good to get a really nice piece of plain colored essentials where you can easily find in store and online. Brands that I would recommend would be Uniqlo , H&M , Forever21 . These are multinational fashion brands that produce somewhat good quality clothing at very affordable pricing.

I would say H&M produces sub-par quality goods with designs that are quite in trend. For instance, the pop band printed t-shirts can be a good way to look vintage trendy.

For bottoms, there is a wide range of different denim and chinos. For starters, I would recommend going for either a medium-wash denim or simple black chinos. To add some points to your outfit, you could consider to slit the bottoms at the knee area so it gives a distressed feel to it.

Up till this point, you’d still have quite a bit of fund left which is used for the star of the outfit; shoes. To get a shoe that matches the budget is honestly a very tough call because not many shoes can fall in this budget category.

But first, to get a shoe that is deemed trendy and affordable would be a simple all black or all white shoe. For starters, I would recommend getting a pair of all white shoe that can match practically any outfit and still look good.

You can go with laceless or with laces, it doesn’t matter. Brands that I would recommend would be Superga, Converse, Vans. Alternatively, you can drop by your local branded factory outlet store for majorly discounted shoes such as Nike Factory Outlet Store. They have really nice shoes at super cheap prices but the downside is the model may be old but it doesn’t really matter as long as the price tag fits.

For a beginner level, this is how you would want to style yourself to look impressive. With a $100 budget, it is pretty hard to achieve the ‘hypebeast’ look unless you do thrift shopping around your local area or online. However, to get really dope pieces at thrift prices isn’t impossible but it’s a very challenging task to do.
